Tracked live on the tutor dashboard and admin panel, credited the moment the 50th query in a batch is answered — no manual claim needed.

A simple, transparent plan with five income streams so tutors can earn from day one and grow as they build a track record. Numbers below are starting suggestions — adjust to your local market and margins.

## 1. Per-class base pay
- Fixed rate per live class or doubt-clearing session conducted (e.g. ₹300–₹600/session depending on subject and batch size).
- Paid regardless of whether students later upgrade, so tutors have predictable income from day one.

## 2. Enrollment commission
- 10–20% of the course fee for every student who enrolls in a batch the tutor teaches.
- Encourages tutors to promote their own batches and deliver classes worth returning for.

## 3. Milestone bonuses

- Helps you scale the tutor base without ad spend.

## 5. Query-resolution pay (the "shared pool")
- Flat ₹10 credit per doubt answered from the shared query pool — visible to every tutor, first to claim gets it.
- Flexible, low-commitment earning between scheduled classes; also keeps response times fast for students.
- **Plus the milestone condition above: every 50 resolved queries also earns a $5 USD bonus**, stacked on top of the ₹10/query pay.

## 6. Content & study-material royalty
- One-time credit (e.g. ₹300–₹1,500 depending on depth) when a tutor's notes, question bank, or test series is approved and published for platform-wide use.
- Recurring **royalty share** (e.g. ₹2 per student who accesses that material per month) for as long as it stays in active use — turns good content into passive income.
- Logged as `content_royalty` in the earnings ledger, so tutors can see exactly which resource is earning.

## 7. Peak-season & weekend intensive bonus
- **Notification season multiplier**: 1.5x on per-class base pay during NDA/CDS/AFCAT notification-to-exam windows (typically Feb–Apr and Sep–Nov), when demand for classes spikes.
- **Weekend intensive bonus**: flat ₹200–₹400 extra for tutors who run weekend doubt-clearing or mock-test-review batches, since these fill the gap for working aspirants who can't attend weekday classes.
- Logged as `seasonal_bonus`; capped per tutor per season to control payout spikes (see guardrails below).

## 8. Elite Tutor tier (beyond Gold)
- For tutors crossing 100+ students who want to keep growing: a **Platinum tier (200+ students)** unlocks a small ongoing revenue-share bump (e.g. +2% on enrollment commission) plus featured placement on force/track pages and first pick of new batches.
- Positioned as a retention plan for your top tutors rather than a one-time bonus — keeps your best mentors from taking their following elsewhere.

## Payout mechanics
- Earnings calculated on the 1st of each month from the `earnings_ledger` table, paid out by the 7th via UPI or bank transfer.
- Tutor dashboard shows a running `total_earnings` balance updated live as classes/queries are completed, so there's no end-of-month surprise.
- Recommend withholding a small % (e.g. 5%) as a "quality holdback" released after 30 days, reversible if a class/answer is later flagged as poor quality — protects both sides without delaying most of the payout.

## Suggested guardrails
- Cap milestone/referral/seasonal bonuses per tutor per month to control payout spikes.
- Require tutor verification (already in the database as `verification_status`) before any payout eligibility, to keep quality consistent.
- Review the commission/base-pay split quarterly against actual enrollment and retention data — pure per-class pay under-rewards results; pure commission is too volatile for new tutors. The blend above balances both.
